Fish and Chips Vol. II

Here's the second part of the story of my unconditional love for fish n' chips:

As you can remember, my first bite to this superb dish was in London, thus I promised to myself to look for the best establishment of F n' C in Dublin. After asking like six mates, I was told that Leo Burdock's was the finest place to eat it, even Dubliners are fond on it and it's without a doubt, one of the places that represents the most the Irish gastronomy. Burdock's was established in 1913 by Bella Burdock and husband Patrick, their first shop was this one, in Christchurch, it is only for take away and almost every day, you have to queue, but it's completely worth it the wait.

When I first stood in, I was extremely excited, for I noticed that one of my idols ate there, yes, my Anthony Bourdain. I didn't know how to order thus I asked for the best fish, they told me the difference between the Cod and Smoked fish, didn't understand the hundred percent of the explanation for I was horrendously nervous, I couldn't believe that I was there, even if it sounds fool. Despite all, I chose the Cod one and then, after the first bite, the rest is history for I fell irritablebly in love with it and its taste.

You now, perhaps, are questioning who is the man who's hugging me with that much enthusiasm, he's the great George, a man who kinda adopted me and my friend for our constant visits to the place. He's in his mid-eighties and his tenderness is ridiculously cool.

I asked him about the day he met Bourdain and he replied with a brilliant "who's Bourdain?" I laughed and the entire staff as well, they told him: George, you know, the chef! And he said: oh, yeah! That man, yes! I met him, don't recall him very much but he was here. I just laughed and said: oh! He's my idol, for him I'm here, so God bless him. My lad and I ate there two or three days a week.

It was my favourite part of the day, well, one of my favs, sitting on a bench outside the Christchurch Cathedral with my best friend by my side, delighting our palds bite by bite. No matter how many times I tried it, it was incomprehensible delicious. I miss George and the guy who knew already my fresh cod fish order with plenty of ketchup, vinegar, salt and a bottle of still water.

Amazing Leo Burdock's in Christchurch: I'd kill for a fucking marvelous fresh cod fish. I'll be back. Thanks!❤️
